A good player makes decisions based on logic, rather than emotions. This is a great life skill to have. Poker also teaches you to manage risk and be smart about how much money you\u2019re betting.<\/p>\n<p>Another way to improve your poker skills is to study poker books and talk about hands with other winning players. Find some players who play at the stakes you\u2019re interested in and start a group chat or meet weekly to discuss tough spots that you\u2019ve been in. Talking about these hands with other winners will help you understand their strategies and see how they think about the game.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that poker improves your math skills, but not the traditional 1+1=2 kind of math. Regular poker players learn how to calculate odds in their heads, which can help them determine when they should call, raise or fold a given hand.
